Bruchsal, Nuremberg, SPS 2019, 11/26/2019 • If software meets with an enthusiastic response, it's worth an award. SEW EURODRIVE's MOVIKIT® Robotics application software recently won second place in this year's "handling award" after it impressed the panel of experts. At SPS in Nuremberg, SEW EURODRIVE is demonstrating the important role software now plays in mechanical engineering and the added value it creates for companies.
The ability of production facilities to manufacture goods economically in single-unit batches determines the success of mechanical and plant engineering operations. Flexibility and successful integration play a key role in this respect. For OEMs, this means customizing machine configurations based on modular systems as far as possible – an approach that expressly includes software. At SPS from November 26 to 28, 2019, SEW EURODRIVE is showcasing application software with a far wider range of functions than conventional motion control.
One particular innovation is adding the MOVIKIT® AntiSlosh function to the MOVIKIT® MultiMotion modular software system to effectively prevent liquids from spilling out of containers. The add-on optimizes motion profiles so ingeniously during acceleration and braking that liquid or viscous products do not spill out of a pack that is still open. SEW EURODRIVE also helps customers when it comes to determining products' natural frequency and liquid damping. This, in turn, makes it possible to calculate the optimum cycle time with a view to maximizing performance, productivity and operational reliability.
