Human Resources Administrator (1st shift)
The position involves assisting employees with issues and changes, completion of special projects, benefits, payroll activities as well as any other HR related functions. This position resides in Troy, OH, but reports to Corporate Headquarters in SC.
Work hours
Normal work hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
Actual Tasks
- Recruit new hires and temporaries.
- Conduct interviews and new hire orientations.
- Perform employment verifications and reference via fax and telephone.
- Aid in employee exit interviews.
- Be involved with performing employee job changes.
- Advise and aid managers and employees regarding Human Resources issues and procedures.
- Conduct employee training as needed.
- Assist in facilitation and delivery of corporate Human Resource programs. These functions involve the implementation, not the development, of programs and policies.
- Manage local workers’ compensation function, including maintaining files and managing claims.
- Ensure disciplinary actions are taken when appropriate and oversee fair treatment of all employees.
- Stay current and assure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Conduct workplace investigations and make recommendations for actions.
- Develop employees for possible future growth and succession planning.
- Oversee Wellness Program.
- Assist employees with any questions or issues they may have on a daily basis.
- Complete verifications of employment requests.
- Filing, including confidential employee paperwork.
- Reconcile attendance on a monthly basis.
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
- Reconcile medical and supplemental life insurance on a regular basis.
- Review and balance all Time Entry information for Troy employees per pay period and process weekly payroll.
- Update all employee and business contact Information.
- Coordinate all special needs employees and their requirements with local agencies as needed.
- Responsible for New Hire Reporting for all States reporting to Troy.
- Develop and assist with special projects/services/activities such as Employee Awards, Employee Meetings, United Way, YMCA etc.
- Coordinate Family Medical Leaves.
- Must comply with all current ISO Quality and Work Instructions for job, all Company Safety rules, and all other Company rules, policies and procedures.
- Read and understand supporting documentation for the work area.
- Assess each situation and do not perform any tasks which s/he feels is unsafe, on which s/he has not received training, or engage in any unsafe work practices. Report any unsafe condition to his/her manager.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and driving records satisfactory to SEW-EURODRIVE or otherwise be able to transport yourself to and from other SEW sites, seminars, customer facilities or other required travel, to engage in business activities.
- Maintain an acceptable personal credit rating.
- Perform other tasks as requested.

- Ability to perform all tasks listed above to the Company’s expectations.
- Must be currently eligible and authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing indefinite basis.

- Possess strong overall office skills, including use of computers, their applications, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, and occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, push and pull, bend, twist, stoop, and kneel.
- Always be businesslike and professional to fellow employees, customers, suppliers, or people who work on behalf of the Company. Environmental
- Work within SEW-EURODRIVE office environment with ability to operate equipment including telephones, computers, and fax machines.
- Work in Troy office.
- Remain continuously within the normal work area.
- Position requires regular, predictable and punctual attendance and ability to work overtime as required, including weekends.
- Ability to travel to any required location necessary to complete training, attend meeting and seminars, and otherwise conduct business.
- Normal work hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Salaried employees are expected to work 45 hours/week on average.
- Wear OSHA approved personal protective equipment (PPE) where required by Company policy or where necessary as dictated by safe practice.
