MFG - Control Systems / MFG Automation Engineer (1st shift) - Lyman, SC

To optimize manufacturing processes and to troubleshoot PD's and control issues along with developing new control systems. Will also assist with IT support in manufacturing for PC or software problems. Will assist Project Coordinator and other groups on new automation systems to develop specification, and will assume other duties that could be assigned.

Education / Experience / Salary

  • Bachelors degree or higher degree in electrical or mechatronics engineer preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience preferred
  • $70,0000 - $90,000

Actual Tasks

  • Develop new control systems and process to further optimize Manufacturing process.
  • Implement new automated cells and solutions, minimizing dependence on outside contractors.
  • Optimize PLC Logic and Automation of manufacturing cells and systems as requested.
  • Provide on site support for automated solutions that are typically externally supported.
  • Develop new control systems and process to further optimize Manufacturing process.
  • Provide Industrial Fieldbus troubleshooting of system stability for networks such as Ethernet and CAN based solutions.
  • Backup/Restoration of configurations and programs as well as Process Documentation for all PDs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have extensive knowledge of PLC Programming, Motion Control, HMI’S and Drives.
  • Must have Knowledge of latest industrial safety standards. Practices, equipment, and the ability to specify, implement such equipment.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Rockwell Automation software and hardware.
  • Must have knowledge of other PLC and HMI hardware and software products from vendors such as Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, and others.
  • Must have good oral and written communication, organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technological concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to create, edit, maintain archive of control diagrams, drawings.
  • 4 year degree (Bachelors) or higher in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering with experience in the automation industry.
  • A minimum of four years of related experience preferred.
