MFG Office - Mechanical Applications Engineer (1st shift) - Wellford, SC
IG Application Engineers provide sales support and application engineering for internal staff, sales, projects and key accounts within the Industrial Gears division of SEW-EURODRIVE. Their advanced knowledge of SEW products and processes helps Application Engineers bring solutions to challenging customer problems.
Education / Experience / Salary
- Bachelor or high degree in engineering required
- 3-5 years power transmission industry experience preferred (2 years estimating & quoting)
- $75,000-$85,000
Actual Tasks
- Perform drive selections, including SEW-EURODRIVE and third party products, to meet the requirements of the customer.
- Utilize experience as well as various Engineering calculation tools, CAD and ERP systems to make the best selections.
- Generate quotations based on established policies within acceptable time periods to meet customer needs.
- Review incoming orders for technical accuracy and fulfillment of customer requirements.
- Work closely with Project Coordinator and other departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Develop strong, professional working relationships with key accounts.
Skills and Abilities
- Review customer specifications, drawings, application information, generate detailed quotations and communicate exceptions, terms and pricing as appropriate.
- Complete customer required documentation as necessary to fulfill customer inquiries.
- Manage key accounts, develop and maintain strong relationships through visits and robust communications.
- Collaborate with Outside Sales, Customer Service, Project Managers, Buyers and Design Engineers
- Work with Global business partners to specify and offer all IG products available worldwide
