Currently the position is to be responsible for freight routings, bills of lading, air bills and working with customers to ensure shipments are routed correctly.
Experience or a combination of education and experience related to the following tasks is desired:
Routing and maintenance of orders.
Prepare bills of lading from shop and trucks, complete air bills, call truck lines and airlines for pickups and arrange same day deliveries.
Take phone calls from customers for all problems, charges, pro numbers, etc.
Review orders before release.
Ensure accuracies of UPS shipments.
Maintenance customer required routings and make sure to keep information current.
Ability to prepare bill of lading for actual shipping of order.
Filing of claims for damaged and lost freight.
Negotiate rates for tariffs.
Maintain relationships with truck sales reps.
Back up for customer service.
Must comply with all current ISO Quality and Work Instructions for job, all Company safety rules, and all other Company rules, policies and procedures.
Assess each situation and do not perform any tasks which s/he feels is unsafe, on which s/he has not received training, or engage in any unsafe work practices. Report any unsafe condition to his/her manager.
Read and understand supporting documentation for work area.
Perform other tasks as requested.
